Corval, Portugal\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e to the reverse, the Lagareiro pottery is a family workshop whose roots go back to the mid-20th century, with Joaquim learning the craft from his father and beginning work as a potter at just fourteen.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe colours and florals on this piece are just extraordinary. Cobalt and turquoise blues sit alongside coral, burnt orange, leafy greens and earthy browns, all painted by hand across a warm cream ground. I particularly love the little white brushstrokes worked through the petals and leaves, there is so much movement and detail when you look closely, and the softly irregular square shape makes it even more special.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIt is a wonderfully generous size and would make the most beautiful wall plate.
