We are Alys & Dom, the couple behind Hiraeth Vintage, a small business based on the beautiful island of Anglesey, North Wales. With a deep passion for re-homing vintage & antiques, we spend our days treasure hunting—seeking out beautiful & unique homewares, gifts & curiosities that you won't find anywhere else! Each item added to the website is a one of a kind piece and we release new collections every week! 

What is Hiraeth? Hiraeth (Welsh noun, pronounced: [HEER] + [EYE] + [TH])
Hiraeth is a word that has always resonated deeply with me. Directly translated as ‘nostalgia,’ it carries a much richer meaning—one that evokes a deep longing or yearning for people, places, and moments that feel like home. 

It’s the feeling of belonging, of cherished routines and familiar comforts. It sparks conversations about what home means to each of us, connecting us through shared memories, past experiences, and the spaces we create around us.

For me, Hiraeth is woven into my childhood by the sea, my love for the objects that shape a home, and the sentimental pull of my roots. It’s a feeling that first took hold the day my granddad took me to an antique shop, where I made my very first vintage find—and I’ve been hooked ever since!

At Hiraeth Vintage, we believe in creating homes filled with objects that are both unique and meaningful—pieces with history, character, and personal connection. Our name, ‘Vintage Nostalgia,’ reflects our love for sourcing pre-loved objects and playing a part in their journey to new homes.

Our Story in a Logo
The little cottage in our logo is more than just a design—it’s a drawing of my granddad’s old farmhouse, the place I feel the strongest sense of Hiraeth for. It had to be part of our brand, because at its heart, Hiraeth Vintage is about home, memory, and the stories our objects hold.
