This is a very charming little boat shaped brass candlestick - I have never seen one like it - and it now graces my bookcase and delights me every day. It’s so lovely to have an item which has been used and loved by others for many years.
When my brother and I were wee kids, my parents’ Swedish friend brought them a little Dala horse as a present. We were obsessed with it, at some point my mum got rid of it in a clear-out arrrgh! ~ I’ve longed to find one, like our old one, for so long; this little beauty brings me such joy! ~ and I’m very happy to have discovered Hiraeth Vintage. Beautifully turned and mysterious little item. I had fun researching the makers label on the bottom and discovered it isn't a twine holder at all but an earring stand. It can now be promoted from the garden shed to the bedroom! I Love it!
