Vintage Blue Polka Dot Studio Pottery Miniature Creamer by Pauline Patterson, Black Mountain Pottery Wales

A beautifully joyful little piece of Welsh studio pottery by Pauline Paterson of Black Mountain Pottery, working in Talgarth, Brecon from the 1980s onwards.

Finished in the most striking cobalt blue glaze, scattered with soft, irregular polka dots, this miniature creamer has such a playful quality. The glaze is rich and glossy, pooling gently around the form, with a speckled, earthy interior that grounds it beautifully.

The shape is just as special, a softly rounded body with a delicate pouring lip and the most wonderful hand-formed handle, full of movement and character. It feels lovely in the hand, but also sits perfectly as a small sculptural piece.

Pauline Paterson is a long-standing member of the South Wales Potters, exhibiting both in Britain and internationally, with work rooted in a love of food, home and the rituals that surround them, something that feels so present in this piece.

Perfect for a single stem, matches or a splash of milk. A small but incredibly charming piece, full of personality and quiet Welsh craft tradition.
