Antique Hand-Painted Folk Art Terrier Wooden Box, C.1930s

A truly special little piece of antique folk art, and one of those finds that makes my heart very happy!

Beautifully handmade from wood and finished with the most wonderful hand-painted portrait of a little terrier on the lid. The painting has such a lovely detailed charm, with soft, timeworn colours and a beautifully aged surface that tells the story of its years.

We estimate this wonderful box dates to around the 1930s, and I particularly love its simple handmade construction, original character and the lovely blue interior. Perfect for keeping treasured notes, small photographs, jewellery or little collected treasures.

A completely unique, one-of-a-kind piece, full of history, personality and the sort of charm that simply can’t be recreated.
