Antique Handmade Arts & Crafts Copper Vessel with Riveted Handles

This is one of those pieces where the age is really what makes it. Handmade from hammered copper, the surface has developed the most beautiful deep, timeworn patina, with every mark and variation adding to its character.

I especially love the little details,  the sweeping twin handles held in place with hand-riveted copper nails, and the delicate rope-like etched detail running around the neck. It has such a lovely, weighty presence and feels beautifully honest in the way it has aged.

Perfect simply as an object in its own right, or filled with a loose handful of garden flowers and foliage. A really special old piece with all the warmth and imperfection I always look for.
