An exceptional antique cast bronze apothecary pestle and mortar with a decagonal bowl that sits on a pedestal base, dating circa 1850. This would have been used in a chemist and has a stunning finish and weight, with beautiful textured details. It has a beautiful patina with light signs of use and a stunning golden hue consistent with bronze pieces. Just as a bell would, the mortar produces a delightful ringing sound.
This is an incredibly high quality, handmade piece with a substantial combined weight of 1.8kg.
