This beautifully handmade and engraved pair of tools would have been used circa the 1860s for lead work.

A boxwood, lead workers chaser with a steel collar that has been engraved with the letters ‘FKR’. This would have been used for shaping the corners of sheet lead on roofs.

A boxwood, lead workers mallet that has been engraved with the letter ‘R’. Traditionally used for supporting lead sheets internally whilst bossing internal corners, but also for general bossing techniques such as external corners when dressing the lead in-situ onto the external corner of the roof detail.

These beautiful tools have been handmade to an incredible quality and still perfectly sturdy 164 years later! They are in lovely condition with expected signs of age, but no damage.
