A beautifully characterful antique stoneware wine bottle from Portugal, complete with its original Faísca Vin Rosé Pétillant label and cork. Rich in warmth and patina, the bottle has a pleasingly weighty form with hand-thrown ridged detailing around the neck and shoulder. Time-worn imperfections, gentle glaze variations, and the softly faded label give it that irresistible charm.
The front still proudly displays its ornate French-language label - Produit du Portugal, Mise en bouteille à l’origine, and references to José Maria da Fonseca, one of Portugal’s oldest wine producers. The reverse features an impressed maker’s seal within the clay, a lovely detail for collectors.
Perfect styled on open shelving, used as a decorative bottle on a rustic table, or grouped with other European stoneware for a soulful, heritage-rich vignette. A wonderful piece of Portuguese wine history with so much charm.
The cork could be removed so that the bottle can be used as a bud vase or candlestick holder if desired.
