A really special discontinued Anthropologie dinner plate from the much-loved Sissinghurst Castle collection, produced between 2012 and 2020 and now increasingly sought after.

The design is absolutely beautiful, a loose, painterly covering of flowers in coral red, soft pink, turquoise, cornflower blue, yellow, violet and leafy green. Each bloom has that wonderfully free, hand-painted quality, with visible brushstrokes, overlapping washes of colour and little irregularities that make the plate feel much more like a piece of artwork than ordinary tableware.

The Sissinghurst Castle collection was created exclusively for Anthropologie and is known for its colourful, expressive florals and slightly folk-art feel. The pattern was inspired by decorative tilework, with each piece having a beautifully individual, hand-painted finish.

Made from stoneware, the plate carries the distinctive handwritten-style Estudio Flores mark to the reverse, along with three small painted brushstrokes.

Although not quite old enough to technically be classed as vintage, it has that wonderfully nostalgic early Anthropologie feel and is now a discontinued design that has become increasingly collectable.

Beautiful used as a dinner plate, but equally lovely propped on an open kitchen shelf or hung on the wall amongst a collection of favourite ceramics.

Diameter: 21cm
