Late 20th Century Studio Pottery Olive Green Handled Vase, Textured Glaze, WLG Seal

Oh my goodness this beautiful vessels is so special and really stopped me in my tracks as soon as a spotted it. 

I completely fell for the contrast, that soft, chalky, unglazed upper half with its beautifully tactile, almost timeworn texture, sitting above the richest olive green glaze. The colour is just gorgeous, mossy, earthy, total perfection. It has such a calm, grounding feel to it.

The shape is just perfect too, that classic twin-handled form with a gentle taper, simple but so considered. It has a real presence without ever feeling heavy, the kind of piece that just settles into a space and makes everything around it feel more intentional.

It’s stamped to the base with an impressed “WLG” seal, a small, quiet detail that I love, one of those marks that reminds you it was carefully made by hand.

Styled with foraged branches, it becomes something really beautiful - almost sculptural, like a little still life. But equally, it would sit just as perfectly on a shelf or table on its own, letting those textures and tones do all the talking.

A real show-stopping, one of a kind treasure.
