A remarkable and incredibly beautiful hand-built studio pottery sculpture, signed Okeeffe, depicting a seated nude female in a moment of quiet reflection. Formed from speckled stoneware and left unglazed, the surface is raw and organic, alive with the subtle flecks and textures of the clay. You can trace the maker’s touch in every curve and line, the tilt of her head, the gentle drape of cloth at her side, the grounding weight of her body as she rests.
Though untitled, I’ve named her Mother Nature for the way she holds a presence that feels elemental, timeless, rooted, and deeply human. There is a quiet poetry here: strength intertwined with vulnerability, simplicity elevated into something enduring and sacred. She feels as though she could belong to an ancient past or a modern studio, bridging centuries through form alone.
This sculpture is more than decorative, it’s a piece that invites pause and contemplation, drawing the eye again and again. Perfect displayed alone where it can be admired, or amongst other sculptural works and collected treasures.
