A particularly wonderful pair of antique brass spike chambersticks, dating to the late 19th century, and a rare find in such beautifully made condition, especially as a matching pair.
What sets these apart is the quality of their craftsmanship. Each features delicately hand-shaped handles and beautifully hand-riveted copper nails, small details that speak to a level of care and skill seldom seen in later examples. Solid, well-proportioned, and thoughtfully made, they are both practical and quietly elegant.
Designed for use before electric light, each chamberstick has a traditional spike fitting to secure the candle and a wide drip tray to catch wax. Over time, the brass has developed a soft, warm patina, with gentle signs of age that add depth and character rather than detract.
It is increasingly rare to find chambersticks of this quality, and rarer still to find them together as a pair. They bring a sense of ritual and calm to a space, perfect for slow evenings, a laid table, or a bedside moment of light.
These chambersticks come complete with candles, ready to light, and to be enjoyed straight away.
