A wonderfully characterful pair of brass fireside fenders from the 1920s/30s, each topped with a finely cast horse in full tack. Originally designed to sit neatly at the hearth, these would have framed a fireside with quiet elegance, the brass catching the glow of the firelight. Today, they’re just as at home styled as bookends, bringing a sense of history and craftsmanship to a shelf or tabletop display.
Each horse is beautifully detailed, with bridles, saddles, and harnesses picked out in relief, standing proud on a shaped plinth with scrolling feet. Their compact size makes them easy to place, while their weight gives them substance and stability.
Vintage condition: In lovely condition, with a natural, aged patina to the brass that adds warmth and depth.
