Pair of Vintage Welsh Studio Pottery Chambersticks by Charles Spacey

A beautiful pair of Welsh studio pottery chambersticks by Charles Spacey, each one hand-thrown and marked to the base “C.S. Wales.”

They are such a grounding pair, soft, earthy tones, gently speckled glazes, and that simple, time-honoured form. The shallow dishes are finished with a subtle blue star-like motif, radiating out from the centre, while the looped handles sit comfortably in the hand, made for carrying candlelight from room to room.

Holding beeswax tapers they cast a warm, low glow that turns even the simplest evening into something slower, softer, more intentional. They’re the kind of pieces that belong to quiet rituals, early nights, cups of tea, the last light of the day.

A lovely, matching pair, increasingly hard to find, especially with clear maker’s marks.

In great vintage condition overall. One chamberstick has a tiny, pin-sized chip to the glaze on the rim (shown in photos), mentioned for accuracy but barely noticeable and does not detract from their beauty or use.

A timeless pair for bedside tables, shelves, or slow evenings at home.
