Rare Large Studio Pottery ‘Birds’ Candle Bowl by Susan Mills, West Green Pottery

A beautiful large studio pottery bowl/pot with a cut out detail depicting three little birds perching on some branches. This is perfect for displaying large candles and enjoying the gorgeous light shining through. It has a beautiful white drip glaze and a beautiful texture to the glaze. There are tiny blue specks running through the white which is just gorgeous! This is a unique one off piece inspired by nature and such a gorgeous centrepiece for a dining table or console table. 

It is impressed with a leaf mark on the base, we believe this was made by Susan Mills of West Green Pottery. For many years this leaf mark has been misattributed to Angela Tain and Susan Enderby but is actually the work of Susan Mills. She trained at the Croydon College of Art in the 1970s.
