A beautifully hand-painted ceramic sundial featuring a radiant sun face framed by golden scrolls and soft blue sky details. Signed E. Pascual, this piece reflects the craftsmanship of mid-century Iberian majolica, a tradition of richly coloured, hand-glazed ceramics rooted in both Spain and Portugal.
The metal dial moves smoothly all the way around, a lovely functional detail that adds to its charm. There’s also a sturdy hook on the back for easy wall hanging, whether displayed indoors or in a sheltered garden space.
Its crackled glaze and gentle wear speak to time spent basking in sunlight, perhaps once hanging in a Mediterranean courtyard. The vivid yellows and deep umber tones bring warmth and old-world character to any interior.
While sometimes misattributed, E. Pascual pottery most likely refers to the Spanish pottery studio of Pascual Zorrilla, known for its hand-painted ceramic work, richly decorated in colourful majolica and cobalt blue designs. Pieces signed E. Pascual share the same painterly quality and artisanal charm, embodying that unmistakable Spanish craftsmanship.
A piece that feels alive with light and history, decorative, evocative, and full of soul.
