Pieces by this maker seldom surface, and this plate is an especially charming find, featuring a speckled green glaze, hand-painted oak leaves and acorn, and the Shakespearean quote: “This above all, to thine own self be true.”

The plate is inscribed on the reverse “Hamlet I iii” and retains its original Doniau Cudd Bangor label - a lovely detail for collectors of Welsh craft heritage.
