A beautifully hand-thrown and hand-painted owl creamer by Steve Barkworth of Pen y Bonc Pottery, Amlwch, Anglesey. This rare piece of Welsh studio pottery captures the maker’s distinctive style, expressive brushwork in cobalt blue over a soft cream glaze, with a charming owl motif that feels both folk-inspired and modernist in its simplicity.
Pieces by Barkworth were made in small batches and are rarely found, making this creamer a particularly special example of Anglesey’s rich ceramic heritage. The form is full of character, with a tactile, organic shape and the potter’s SB mark impressed to the handle.
A beautiful collector’s piece, but also one that feels right at home on a breakfast table or kitchen shelf, full of quiet personality and coastal charm.
