Vintage 1940s–50s Bourne Denby Grey & Blue Stoneware Jug

A beautiful vintage Bourne Denby stoneware jug, dating from the 1940s–50s. Finished in a grey glaze with hand-painted cobalt blue detailing, it has that quiet, reassuring presence that Denby does so well.

The shape is classic and well balanced, with a comfortable handle and gentle pouring lip. The folk-like blue brushwork and blue-rimmed foot give it a lovely sense of character. Stamped to the base “Bourne, Made in England, Denby”.

Perfect used as a milk or water jug, or simply styled with eucalyptus or garden stems on an open shelf.
