The Polaroid 2000 Land Camera was released in the late 1970s, likely around 1976–1977. That makes it approximately 47–48 years old as of 2025.

This model was part of Polaroid’s SX-70 series but designed as a more affordable option, using Polaroid SX-70 film. It features a fixed-focus lens and a stylish midcentury design, making it a simple yet stylish instant camera from the golden era of Polaroid photography.

Key Features:

✔ Fully Working & Film Tested – This camera has been tested with modern Polaroid SX-70 film. I have included some of my test shots in the listing photographs so you can see the style of photo this camera/film produces. The test shots were taken on a bright sunny day.

You can purchase more film here: https://www.polaroid.com/en_gb/products/color-sx70-instant-film

✔Comes with an unopened pack of Polaroid SX-70 film so you can start shooting straight away! The film will give you 8 shots. Please note: Original vintage Polaroid film had 10 shots per pack, so when you insert the film, the camera will show that there’s 10 shots inside.

✔ Comes with the original shoulder strap

✔ Adjustable Focal Length – A rare feature for this style of camera, allowing slight adjustments for different shooting distances.

✔ Exposure Control Wheel – Fine-tune brightness to get the best results in varying light conditions.

✔ Classic 70s Design – A stylish and nostalgic piece of instant photography history.

Adjustable Focal Length – Unlike many entry-level Polaroid models, this camera features a lens adjustment ring, allowing you to tweak the focus slightly for different shooting distances. This provides more versatility when capturing subjects at varying ranges.

Exposure Control Wheel – Located near the lens, the exposure compensation dial lets you manually adjust for brighter or darker results. This is especially useful when shooting in tricky lighting conditions, giving you some creative control over the final image.

My Testing & Recommendations:

Best for Outdoor & Landscape Photography – Performs best in natural light, producing clear, well-exposed images in the right conditions.

Indoor & Low Light Limitations – When photographing people or animals indoors, focus can be soft. Focus suffers with this camera when you get too close to the subject, the original manual recommends that you never shoot closer than 1.2meters to the subject for the best result. (My testing confirmed this). Photographing people or animals with this camera is possible but requires a lot more experimentation to produce an image with a sharp focus.

A Unique Shooting Experience – This camera produces photos with a distinct aesthetic—never a ‘perfect’ shot, but always a surprise as the image develops.

To get the most out of this camera and SX-70 film, shoot in bright natural light & focus on subjects within a reasonable distance.

Please Note:  Polaroid film has a unique aesthetic, the photographs the camera/film produces vary in colour and style depending on light and temperature conditions. The beauty of instant photography is that each photograph is unique and you don’t always know what you’re going to get in terms of light, colour and consistency. Different temperatures affect how the film behaves, you can read about how to get the most out of your film/camera by clicking here

• Once you have loaded your film into your camera, a dark slide will automatically shoot out (this is what protects your film from light damage) now you’re ready to shoot! Don’t open the film compartment again  until the film is all used up, as any exposure to light will ruin the film.

Vintage condition: fully working and film tested, great aesthetic condition, minor signs of age but no damage. Comes with original shoulder strap.
