A striking piece of Welsh studio pottery, hand-thrown and glazed by Patricia and James Hutchins of Priddweithfa Môn, Anglesey Pottery. Made between 1973 and 1983, the pottery moved from Anglesey to Powys in 1983. This generous vase embodies the earthy charm and craftsmanship synonymous with rural Welsh ceramic traditions.
With its rich ochre glaze, deep burgundy base, and expressive hand-drawn wave motif around the shoulder, it is both grounded and joyful. The shape feels timeless, substantial and tactile, with a wide neck ideal for flower arranging. Stamped clearly to the base:
“PRIDDWEITHFA MON, ANGLESEY POTTERY, HAND MADE IN WALES.”
Whether styled with wild garden stems or displayed on its own, this piece brings a sense of place, rooted in Anglesey’s landscape and craft history.
