A beautifully crafted vintage colander made by Yorkshire potter Margaret Brook, dated 1981 and stamped to the base. Brook worked from her studio on Woodhead Road, Holmbridge, from the 1970s onward, creating timeless, utilitarian pieces in richly glazed earthenware.
This tactile piece features a dark, glossy brown glaze on the exterior and a wonderfully swirled olive-green glaze inside. The colander is pierced with a distinctive floral arrangement of drainage holes and has twin side handles for easy use. It’s both decorative and functional, perfect for rinsing garden pickings, morning berries, or displaying fruit in the kitchen.
