A beautifully balanced studio pottery pouring bowl by Margaret Brook, dated 1991 and stamped to the base. Made in her Yorkshire pottery studio on Woodhead Road, Holmbridge, this piece perfectly blends utility and elegance, ideal for everyday kitchen rituals.
The bowl features a rich, glossy brown glaze on the outside and a stunning swirled olive green glaze on the interior, pooling beautifully at the base. It has a gently curved pouring spout, a wide handle, and pleasing proportions that make it as practical as it is decorative, perfect for mixing, pouring batters, or serving sauces and dressings, it would even make a beautiful planter.
Stamped: MB, 1991
Condition: Excellent vintage condition
Height: 10cm
Length from handle to spout: 20.5cm
Top diameter: 17cm
Base diameter: 8.5cm
This is a rare, functional form from a lesser-known British studio potter, and it pairs beautifully with other warm-toned stoneware in the kitchen.
