A beautifully hand-thrown studio pottery vase by Tannery Lane Pottery, once based on the grounds of Bendigo Pottery in Victoria, Australia. This piece was made in the late 20th century (likely 1980s–1990s) and carries the distinct impressed TANNERY LANE / BENDIGO POTTERY mark on the base.
Crafted from warm, textured stoneware clay, it features natural swirling tones of ochre and rust, finished with a rich glossy glaze in deep indigo, reminiscent of dusk over the Australian bush. Its form is both sturdy and elegant, with a gently flared lip that feels lovely in the hand.
This piece would be perfect for a few gathered wildflowers or standing proudly on a shelf amongst other earthy ceramics. It carries the story of a small studio operating within Australia’s oldest working pottery.
