Vintage Blue Floral Polka Dot Spongeware Jug by Bell Pottery, Oxfordshire

This is such a special find, soft cream clay scattered with the sweetest inky blue polka dots and the most beautiful hand-painted floral motif, all in that perfect, almost watery cobalt tone that I’m always drawn to. It has such a gentle, homely charm to it, the kind of piece that makes even the simplest shelf feel considered.

Made by Bell Pottery in Oxfordshire, it’s hand-thrown with a softly undulating rim and a lovely, comfortable handle. It sits so nicely styled with a few stems, but would be just as perfect for milk, cream, or simply left out to be admired.

Vintage Condition: There’s a tiny chip below the spout and some light crazing across the body, but they don’t take away from its beauty at all – if anything, they just add timeworn feel we love. (Please see photos)
