A beautiful vintage studio pottery creamer jug by British potter Jo Berryman, with the most wonderful earthy colours and expressive, hand-decorated finish.
Hand-thrown from warm terracotta clay and finished in a rich blue glaze, with flowing brushstrokes of turquoise, cream and deep brown.
Jo Berryman trained at Coldstone Kiln and worked at several English potteries throughout her career, including Coldstone Pottery in Oxfordshire, Campden Pottery in Gloucestershire and Deddington Pottery in Oxfordshire, where she also worked under the name Jo Carson.
With its beautifully rounded shape, little pouring spout and curved handle, this charming jug would be lovely for serving cream, holding a small posy of flowers or displayed amongst other collected treasures on kitchen shelves.
A wonderful little example of British studio pottery, celebrating the beauty of traditional craftsmanship and handmade ceramics.
