A beautiful example of mid-century French stoneware, this generously proportioned jug was handmade in Bonny-sur-Loire, a small town in central France with a long tradition of artisan pottery. Stamped on the base with Grès de Bonny – Fait Main, it dates to around the 1960s–70s and was likely produced in one of the local workshops known for crafting durable, rustic wares for both everyday use and export.
The rich, warm glaze has a subtle sheen and slight tonal variation, giving it that unmistakable handmade character. Whether used as a statement vase for seasonal stems (like those daffs!) or left empty to let the form speak for itself, it’s the kind of timeless piece that brings soul to a space.
In lovely vintage condition with just the right amount of patina. A sturdy and soulful addition to any collection of French kitchenware.
