Vintage Hand-Painted Terracotta Slipware Rooster Handled Dish

A beautiful piece of vintage studio pottery, handmade from warm, earthy terracotta and finished with the most wonderful hand-painted rooster in lovely rich shades of rusty red, ochre, brown and olive green.

I particularly love the contrast between the natural unglazed terracotta and the soft, creamy slipware centre, with its beautifully painted details and lovely little handles on either side.

A wonderfully characterful piece, perfect for serving something delicious at the table or displaying on a kitchen shelf or dresser. This would also make a beautiful wall plate for a kitchen or pantry. A lovely example of traditional folk-inspired pottery, full of rustic charm and personality.
