Vintage Handmade Folk Art Slipware Matchbox – Prawn Motif

A charming piece of coastal folk art, this matchbox has been lovingly crafted by repurposing a hand-decorated slipware terracotta tile, featuring a beautifully painted prawn in earthy browns and soft blues. The tile has been carefully affixed to a vintage Welsh cardboard matchbox, originally made by J. John Masters & Co. Ltd, London.

We’ve refilled it with unused vintage matches so it’s ready to use or display, a perfect mix of function and artistry. The tactile slipware surface, warm terracotta edges, and bold prawn design give it a rustic, sea-swept character, making it a delightful addition to any kitchen, fireside, or coastal-inspired interior.
