Vintage Handmade Mediterranean Green Glazed Pottery Olive Oil Jug

A beautiful vintage Mediterranean pottery jug, finished in the most wonderful deep emerald green glaze, with lovely variations in colour throughout.

With its beautifully rounded body, elegant curved handle and unusual narrow neck, this is such a lovely example of traditional pottery, believed to have been made for storing and pouring olive oil.

One particularly interesting detail is the small, intentionally formed hole beside the neck, thought to help regulate the flow of liquid for a more controlled pour. A wonderfully practical detail that adds to the character and history of this beautiful piece.
