Vintage Handmade Solid Brass Apple Clipboard

I absolutely love this - a beautifully handmade vintage clipboard in solid brass, with the most wonderful sculptural apple at the top. The apple has beautifully worked leaves and is fixed in place with tiny hand-riveted copper screws, which is such a gorgeous little detail and gives you a real sense of the care that went into making it.

The brass has developed the most beautiful natural patina over time, with soft golden tones, darker marks and little areas of wear across the surface. I’ve left it exactly as it is because, for me, that character is a huge part of what makes an old piece like this so lovely.

I’ve added a length of olive green silk ribbon so it can be hung on the wall, and I think it would be so beautiful in a kitchen holding handwritten recipes, shopping lists, postcards or little notes. It would also make such a lovely way to display a favourite photograph or piece of ephemera.

A really special piece - practical, beautifully made and full of the kind of age and detail I’m always drawn to.
