Antique Folk Art Handmade Solid Wood Foraging Basket

This incredible solid wood basket has been handmade and beautifully carved, finished with a wrought iron handle fixed with cane. What makes this piece even more wonderful is that at one point in its life a natural crack has appeared and it has been repaired by hand with hand-made rectangular headed nails which were used from 1800-1890. A fantastic folk art piece, each detail and texture suggesting the story of its past. A really solid, high quality piece, the only Ken fits kind! Perfect as a foraging basket, fruit bowl or centrepiece.
