A beautifully crafted handled vessel by Nic Harrison an accomplished Cornish potter who trained and worked in some of the most significant pottery hubs of the late 20th century.
Leach’s pottery journey began at St Ives Pottery in 1979, before moving to establish Trelowarren Pottery (Mawgan, Helston, Cornwall) in 1981. His work carries the influence of that strong Cornish studio tradition, rooted in his modernist legacy, yet with a distinctive personal hand.
This piece is wheel-thrown in stoneware with a rich, deep blue glaze that shifts in tone across the surface, catching light in subtle variations. Twin looped handles and fine incised detailing around the rim add to its balance of function and form, while the maker’s seal is impressed at the base.
Whether used as a vase for garden stems or simply admired as a piece of studio craft history, it has a quiet strength and elegance that embodies the spirit of Cornish pottery.
