Vintage Original Framed Oil on Board, ‘Solitude’, W.Gower, 1977 | Thatched Cottage

This beautiful piece is titled 'Solitude' which perfectly encapsulates the mood of this painting. A little thatched cottage nestled in a moorland landscape, no company but for the birds, soaring in the distance. It seems the perfect place to escaped the world, curl up with a book in front of the fire and watch the world go by. This piece would have an entirely somber atmosphere, were it not for the tree in the foreground, displaying its first blossom, bringing an air of hope and new life to a lonely landscape.
