Vintage Portuguese Studio Pottery Shepherd Jug

A little story held in clay - This beautiful hand-painted Portuguese studio pottery jug is full of charm, its soft white glaze adorned with deep cobalt blue florals and a gentle pastoral scene, where a lone shepherd stands among beautifully simple details, florals and greenery and a little smiling sun. There’s something so endearing about it… the slightly naive brushwork, the warmth of the terracotta base, the way it feels both humble and deeply expressive.

The curved form sits comfortably in the hand, finished with a beautiful looped terracotta handle. Perfect as a water jug, or styled with your favourite fresh stems.
