Vintage Quayside Pottery Blue & White Botanical Mugs - Pair

A beautiful pair of vintage studio pottery mugs by J.S. Stuart / A.J.S. Stuart of Quayside Pottery, City Basin, Exeter, believed to date from around the 1980s.

Handmade in a wonderfully soft white glaze, each mug is painted with a deep cobalt blue botanical branch, with little berry details and blue bands around the rim and base. I especially love that no two are quite identical, the placement of the leaves, brushstrokes and shape vary ever so slightly, giving each one that unmistakable handmade character.

A really lovely everyday pair for morning coffee or tea, and particularly beautiful displayed together on an open kitchen shelf. They would also make a gorgeous gift.
