Vintage Raku Studio Pottery Blue & Earthy Toned Bottle Vase

A richly expressive vintage studio pottery bottle vase, hand-thrown and Raku fired, with a surface full of depth, movement and elemental beauty.

This piece carries deeper, moody tones of inky blues, burnished browns, mossy greens and flashes of warm ochre - layered and drawn together by the unpredictable nature of the raku process. The glaze feels almost weathered, as though shaped by tide, fire and time, with smoky undertones and subtle crackle that shift as the light moves across the surface.

The form is softly rounded and grounding, narrowing gently at the neck, giving the vase a quiet sense of balance and weight. It works beautifully with a few simple stems or foliage, but has a strong sculptural presence when left empty - an object to pause with rather than pass by.

As with all raku ware, this piece is entirely one of a kind, its markings and variations a direct record of the firing process and the hand that made it.
