A vintage Reeves “Cheapside Colour Box No.2,” made in England and packed with painterly charm. This enamelled metal watercolour set has clearly been treasured, its interior a canvas of overlapping hues, brush marks, and timeworn patina. The original label is still visible beneath the paints, listing classic colours like Burnt Sienna, Ultramarine, and Vandyke Brown, a little poetic in itself.
Stamped “REEVES” and “MADE IN ENGLAND BY REEVES & SONS LTD, LONDON,” this piece speaks of a quieter time: sketchbooks on knees, field studies in pockets, and fingers smudged with pigment. Whether you’re a practising artist, a collector of vintage art materials, or simply someone drawn to tactile beauty, this tin is a gentle piece of creative history.
The fold-out palette tray still function beautifully, and many of the original half pans are intact and usable. A thoughtful gift for a painter or a piece to display in your studio, shelf, or still life scene.
