Vintage Romanian Pink Floral Jug | Făianța Sighișoara

A really beautiful vintage Romanian pottery jug, stamped ‘Made in Romania, FS’ to the base and made by Făianța Sighișoara.

It has the prettiest soft ivory glaze, scattered with delicate pink florals and little green leaves, and such an elegant shape with its generous curved handle and gently pinched pouring spout. The glaze has developed the most gorgeous fine crazing over time too, giving the whole piece a beautifully tactile, aged surface, exactly the sort of texture I always hope to find in an older piece.

It’s lovely from every angle, with the larger spray of flowers to one side and a tiny single bloom on the reverse. Perfect filled with hydrangeas, garden flowers or a few simple branches, but just as beautiful left empty on a dresser or open shelf.

A really special piece of vintage Romanian pottery, delicate, romantic, and aged in all the right ways.
