Vintage Striped Studio Pottery Vase, Blue & Cream

Soft stripes and a coastal calm, made for lavender, sea grasses, and quiet corners.

There’s something instantly soothing about this piece, a tall, hand-thrown studio pottery vase decorated in vertical blue and cream stripes, with a terracotta rim that peeks out like the edge of sun-warmed clay. It’s unmarked, but clearly the work of a skilled maker, carefully thrown, finely balanced, and finished with a satin-matte glaze that feels lovely to the touch.

The palette is reminiscent of painted beach huts and striped deckchairs, or the kind of utility pottery you’d find in a favourite holiday cottage kitchen, timeless, simple, and full of charm. I’ve styled it here with sprigs of lavender, but it would be just as lovely with foraged stems, sea grasses, or left empty as a sculptural piece on a shelf.
