Vintage Studio Pottery Abstract Brush Stroke Creamer

Oh my goodness… how beautiful is this jug! I completely fell for it the moment I picked it up, the shape, the glaze, those painterly brush strokes. It’s one of those pieces that feels effortlessly beautiful, like a little canvas wrapped around clay.

The form is just perfect, softly rounded with a gentle taper, a neat pouring lip and a beautifully balanced handle. It sits so comfortably in the hand. There’s something so satisfying about its proportions.

The glaze is a soft, muted sage-grey, layered with expressive abstract brush strokes in earthy browns, dusky blues and inky tones. Each mark feels instinctive and free, like it was painted in one confident sweep. No two sides are quite the same, which only makes it more special.

It works beautifully as a creamer, of course, but I adore it styled as a little bud vase or beside the stove holding matches. It has that wonderful studio pottery honesty, tactile, individual, quietly bold.
