Vintage Studio Pottery Blue Crab Pot by Neil Tregar

A beautiful vintage studio pottery pot decorated with a bold, hand-painted blue crab, made by Neil Tregar of Tregar Pottery.

Thrown in a softly textured stoneware and finished in deep, inky blues with an off white interior, this piece has a wonderful weight and presence in the hand. The crab motif feels distinctly coastal, playful yet timeless, making it a perfect fit for seaside kitchens, candlelit corners, or shelves layered with found objects and ceramics.

Wonderfully versatile, it works just as beautifully as a candle holder as it does a match pot or sugar pot. The interior glaze reflects candlelight warmly, while the exterior tells its own quiet story through brushwork and form.

Neil Tregar worked from studios in Oxfordshire and later on the Isle of Wight, his pieces are known for their honest craftsmanship, functional beauty, and seaside themes. This pot carries his characteristic triangular maker’s mark to the base.
