Vintage Studio Pottery Hand-painted Butterfly Bud Vase

There’s something so peaceful about this little pot, like a quiet moment by an open window. The little butterflies remind me of the butterfly on our Hiraeth Cottage. Thrown in a soft, chalky stoneware with a wide flared rim and gentle curves, it’s decorated with hand-painted butterflies in blush pink and inky black, captured mid-hover in a few simple brushstrokes.

Stamped NEWTON on the base, the exact maker is unknown, but the care and skill in the making are unmistakeable. It’s the kind of piece that feels lovely to hold, unfussy, perfectly balanced, and full of ease.

Just right for a small sprig or wildflowers, or herbs freshly cut from the garden, equally lovely as a match pot. A little pot that doesn’t ask for attention but quietly brings beauty to wherever it’s placed.
