Vintage Studio Pottery Slipware Rural Sheep Wall Plate

A charming vintage slipware wall plate, hand-painted with a woolly sheep standing beneath a wash of blue sky and soft green pasture. Full of rustic countryside character, this piece has a wonderfully naive folk-art quality that makes it equally beautiful displayed on a wall or resting on an open shelf amongst treasured pottery and collected curiosities.

Stamped to the reverse by the maker, although we have been unable to identify the pottery. A lovely, one-of-a-kind piece with a gentle pastoral feel and plenty of character.
