Vintage Studio Pottery Terracotta Jug, Slate Blue Drip Glaze

A beautifully substantial vintage studio pottery jug, hand-thrown with a wonderfully tactile, softly ribbed surface. The terracotta clay is washed in the most subtle slate-blue glaze, pooling and drifting across the surface while allowing glimpses of the warm red clay beneath.

It has a lovely weight to it and a strong, honest handmade feel, one of those pieces that looks just as good left empty on a shelf as it does filled with a loose bunch of dried stems. I especially love the contrast between the cool, smoky glaze and the exposed terracotta around the base.

A beautifully understated piece of studio pottery with plenty of texture and character.
