A wonderful piece of Welsh studio pottery from the renowned Ewenny Pottery, hand-thrown in their unmistakable rich cobalt blue glaze and finished with the incised Welsh phrase “Safiwch Dŵr, Yfwch Cwrw” - “Save Water, Drink Beer.”

Beautifully weighty with a generous curved handle and timeless country character, this large tankard was made to be enjoyed, whether filled with beer, displayed on an open kitchen shelf, or repurposed as a striking vase for freshly gathered garden flowers.

Each inscription was carved by hand before glazing, making every example slightly different and entirely unique. With its deep lustrous glaze and traditional craftsmanship, it’s a lovely celebration of Welsh pottery heritage and the enduring skill of one of Wales’ oldest working potteries.
