This beautifully distinctive studio pottery jug by Carol Wynne Morris feels like a quiet departure from the soft florals so often associated with Conwy Pottery. Instead, it carries a richer, green palette, layered with deep terracotta and simple ochre slipware dots that feel almost folkloric in their rhythm.
The form is wonderfully balanced, a rounded belly, gently flared lip, and a hand-pulled handle with that subtle, tactile curl at its base. There’s a softness to it, but also a grounded weight. Turn it over and you’ll find the Conwy Pottery stamp, a meaningful link to North Wales, to the coastline, to a tradition of making that values both beauty and function.
