A sweet and thoughtful little studio pottery dish, hand-thrown and slip-decorated with the Welsh words diolch yn fawr, “thank you very much.” It features a repeating heart motif in soft blue on a warm terracotta base, with beautiful hand-painted calligraphy.
This would make a truly special gift, especially for a teacher at the end of the school year, or for anyone you want to thank in a meaningful, lasting way. The kind of piece that says a lot, without needing many words.
Designed and made by Molly Curley in Cardiff, Wales, she was a remarkable figure in Welsh craft and the founding force behind the Makers Guild in Wales. After a long career in art education, Molly discovered clay later in life and spent over three decades developing a joyful and distinctive body of work, all hand-thrown and decorated using liquid slip, much of it still cherished in homes across Wales today.
